Slate Floor Tiles
A floor tiled with Brazilian Slate will enhance any area, inside or outside. In addition to the obvious aesthetic advantages the slate will provide an extremely durable surface that requires the very minimum of maintenance. These products are equally suitable as wall tiles.
Brazilian Slate floor tiles are available in a variety of sizes and can be finished to suit a specific requirement. All slate tiles are split from a slate block which is accurately cut to square by laser guided diamond saws. Generally the tiles are ‘hand split’ slate (double sided) with a fine riven finish and due to the excellent qualities of the product this provides a fairly consistent thickness.
Where the client’s environment demands a more consistent thickness for tiles we have ‘calibrated’ products available. ‘Calibrated slate tiles’ are machined on the reverse side to ensure that an even thickness is achieved.
We maintain large stocks of our standard size slate tiles, giving the option of laying them in set or random patterns. Stock colours are Graphite (black) and Cinza (blue/grey). If you require ‘non-stock’ size tiles these can be provided by our ‘in house’ cutting and machining service or on large quantities supplied direct from the quarry .
Slate flooring provides the ideal medium for storing and transferring the heat supplied by ‘under floor heating systems’. It has been claimed that a similar level of comfort is achieved at a temperature 2 degrees lower than with conventional radiators. Wall radiators are convectors, heating the air (from the ceiling down); using under floor heating the whole floor area emits heat. Other advantages include the freedom to site furniture, fewer dust traps, lower risk of injury from hot radiators and in bath/wet rooms the floors will dry more quickly.
Delivery charges for slate floor tiles are based on an economy pallet delivery, on a ‘tail lift’ vehicle. An economy pallet will hold 35 square metres of 10/12mm thick slate tiles and cost £45.00 +VAT. For large orders please CONTACT US for alternative delivery methods.

| Preta Slate A very fine textured slate. The slate is lightly polished, by hand, bringing out the light riven markings on the surface and providing a soft aged effect. Preta slate is particularly suited to walls in wet rooms, shower rooms, bathrooms and pool surrounds. |
