Natural Slate Tables with Wooden Frames

Unique to Ardosia Slate, our slate and wood tables use Monterey Pine, Oak, Beech or customer specified timber to produce a top quality product. Made in our North Devon workshops, handcrafted by skilled tradesmen from locally sourced timber and then fitted with a Brazilian natural slate surface or other highlights.

Each table is ‘bespoke’, made to the customer’s exact requirements although we do hold a small stock of the tables we have produced for demonstration and marketing purposes.

The table supports are manufactured from locally sourced timber to match the sizes and design specified and no nails or screws are used in the construction, all joints are cut and matched by a skilled craftsman.

The natural slate, selected from our substantial stocks to suit the customer’s requirements regarding colour, texture and thickness, is cut to fit the prepared timber frame and then the edges are finished in accordance with the customer’s specification; the surface can be left with a riven finish or honed/polished, as the customer requires, before being fitted to the timber support structure.

Natural slate tops can also be manufactured to replace existing units on the clients own base structure (please check that it will support the weight of a slate surface) and they can be engraved to commemorate a special occasion or simply as decoration. Contact us for advice and price information.
