The final touch to any bespoke order is the selection of your preferred edge profile.

Our slate technicians apply all edge profiles by hand to ensure the best quality craftsmanship. With a selection to choose from we have something for any project, whether it’s a straight pencil edge, rounded bullnose, or a naturally aged finish.

There are different edge profiles available for bespoke products suitable for all projects;-

The pencil edge profile is where we leave the edges square by lightly removing the sharpness off the edges, this is the ideal finish for a modern and contemporary space.

The aged edge is where we polish into the layers of the slate leaving the edges looking naturally worn, great if you are looking to match into a traditional fireplace, ideal for older styled properties.

The half bullnose or full bullnose, this has a round to the edge and is custom to the thickness of the slate. Half bullnose leaves a flat bottom suitable to be put down on the floor for hearth etc. Full bullnose has a rounded top and bottom edge, great for steps.
