Ardosia slate can provide a very wide selection of hearths to suit your decor. Dependent on your situation and the appliance to be installed we can supply black slate, in thicknesses between 12mm to 40mm or grey slate up to 25mm thick. The slate can be cut to almost any shape (provide us with a template or detailed drawing) with a choice of surface and edge finishes. You choose the finish to match your taste, riven, lightly brushed, or polished surface, with aged, pencil or bullnose edges. If required we can provide 'slips' to lift the hearth slab above the floor and allow a neat transition from floor covering to slate, it also gives the impression of a much thicker slab.

Our slate hearths for fireplaces can be cut to any design as they are all custom and hand cut. These fireplace hearths can be made to match any design from traditional and large inglenook fireplaces to modern woodburner fireplaces. The fireplace hearths come in grey or black to suit your home and design. Our hearths have been installed under a wide range of modern and traditional woodbruners/multifuel stoves as well as open fireplaces. Suitable for fireplace surrounds in traditional brickwork, natural stone and wood and oak beams, our hearths are created specifically to your designs with a variety of finishes.
