Ardosia Slate has made bespoke kitchen island and breakfast bar worktops for hundreds of private clients from a range of slate including black, dark grey and light grey slate breakfast bar and kitchen island worktops. Each worktop is manufactured to a bespoke design including the actual shape of the worktops, the depth of the slate and the finish. As a natural stone product, slate can be finished in a range of ways including a highly polished surface finish and smooth edging so that you can see the natural graining.

Modern designs can incorporate straight and sharp edging for contrast where a traditional cottage kitchen may require a more rustic and natural aged finish with riven or smoothed edges. All of these are available for any bespoke cut slate breakfast bar or kitchen island worktop. Slate is a perfect choice for a kitchen worktop as it is one of the most natural non-porous materials available meaning that it does not absorb liquid. The surfaces are very easy to wipe clean and little maintenance is required.

Our worktops can also be cut to incorporate a range of kitchen utilities. Many modern breakfast islands may require a sink or hob to fulfil a functional as well as an aesthetic purpose.
